WHO WE ARE

Primarily established as a Classical music company, ZC Music Group searches the world over for unique, new, high quality music for its productions. ZC Music Group concepts are of very high standards, from the recording, production and packaging aspects. ZC Music Group concentrates on Classical, Liturgical and Sacred music productions, however also recognizes the virtuosity of the Jazz and World musician.

Originally formed in 1994 as ZC Music Inc., a new alliance with Hacate Entertainment Group, New York, caused the growth of and the name change to ZC Music Group Inc. in 1998.

Our first major artist was Organ virtuoso Berj Zamkochian. This world renown artist continues to dazzle new audiences the world over while maintaining his vast classical repertoire as if it is new to the listener. Lovingly referred to as the “old lion” the Boston based organist has produced recordings that are legendary. His recording of the Poulenc Organ Concerto with the Boston Symphony Orchestra was rated one of the top fifty classical recordings by the New York Times.

In 1995 ZC Music began to enlist the works of two noted American Liturgical composers, Jeffrey Brody and Charles Osborne. These two New England based composers, are continuing to win over and impress new audiences with their music. Brody’s newest Choral work, Beowulf, was premiered in Vienna this past Spring. Osborne’s oratorio Souls On Fire, our first major release as ZC Music Group, featuring Leonard Nimoy, received critical acclaim. His Symphony in A Flat (Souls), the sister composition to the oratorio, released earlier this year, is receiving high praise from both listener and reviewer. ZC Music Group keeps its ears close to the Classical music scene looking for composers and compositions that deserve to be heard.

ZC Music Group productions feature talented musical ensembles the world over. These artists, musicians and ensembles include the Bulgarian National Symphony and Chorus, Ensemble Europa, and Berlin Madrigal. Recordings are also produced in Historical sites such as the Methuen Memorial Music Hall, Methuen, MA; the Spandau Citadel, Berlin Germany; the Salle Bulgaria, Sofia, Bulgaria just to name a few. These venues offer magnificent acoustical properties that add so much to the compositions.

In 2001, ZC Music Group, helped establish and became a founding member of the Classical Music Consortium and was instrumental in setting up the working distribution channels currently employed by the CMC.

A primary goal for this year, and continuing into 2002, ZC Music Group is gathering the repertoire of exciting and virtuoso artists of the Classical, Jazz and World music scene and making them accessible to audiences the world over.
